During the first days of December 2013, the Drug Quality Laboratory of the Salvadoran Government was inaugurated. This Laboratory is in charge of examining all pharmaceuticals products found in the Salvadoran market.
According to Legislative Decree No. 1008 of April 22, 2012 «Medicines Law» Article 46, the Bureau of National Drugs may proceed with the removal of samples from the correspondent establishments to carry out analysis of the same, being the manufacturer or distributor obliged of replacing those samples to those establishments where they were taken from and to pay the cost of the analysis performed.
According to declaration given by Director of the Bureau of National Drugs, estimated that in order to carry 100% of the examination of the products on the market will take approximately 3 years.
